The Ukrainian striker did not play as much as hoped at the 2.Bundesliga club, and will continue his development in the Eredivisie.

"Artem needs playing time. He's a big talent, who still promises a lot," said managing director sport Simon Rolfes.

The 18-year-old, who is on a long-term deal with the Rhinelanders, had joined Nürnberg at the start of the season.

He made 13 appearances for the Bavarian side, totalling 678 minutes, with seven from the bench. Although prolific for Leverkusen at youth level, he managed only one assist in his limited minutes at Nürnberg.
