Leverkusen ‘to line up’ Filipe Luís as Hjulmand replacement

Filipe Luís has emerged as Leverkusen's leading contender to replace Kasper Hjulmand as head coach.

According to Sky Deutschland, the club have identified the 40-year-old former Brazil international as their preferred choice, and negotiations are under way.

Hjulmand remains under contract until 2027, and Leverkusen reportedly plan to confirm his departure only once a deal with a successor is finalised.

Luís guided Flamengo to a league title and the Copa Libertadores before being dismissed in March.
