Loïc Badé is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering an injury at the weekend, according to BuLi News.

The French defender returned to the starting XI against Union Berlin after two matches on the bench, but his comeback ended in the 68th minute when a knock forced him off.

Subsequent MRI scans confirmed a muscle injury in his right thigh, ruling him out for at least the next few weeks.

The timing is far from ideal for Kasper Hjulmand’s side, who are navigating a heavy schedule while competing in the Bundesliga, the Champions League and the DFB-Pokal.

Badé’s absence could open the door for Tim Oermann, with the 22-year-old still awaiting his Leverkusen debut after a loan at Sturm Graz in Austria.
