Liam Rosenior flew from Strasbourg to London on Sunday and is expected at Chelsea within hours, although he has not yet signed a contract. According to L'Équipe, the Strasbourg coach left for the capital as talks progressed.
On Saturday night, after Strasbourg’s draw at Nice, he played down the situation. He said there was nothing concrete, perhaps only interest, and that he had not spoken to Chelsea, adding he tries not to hide things.
He first returned to Strasbourg with his squad overnight, then boarded a Strasbourg to London flight on Sunday afternoon. He was accompanied at the airport by president Marc Keller and sporting director David Weir.
The players were given Sunday off. Monday’s session, previously scheduled, is set to go ahead without Rosenior and assistants Khalifa Cissé and Justin Walker.
The coach could make his debut in the Blues dugout on Wednesday in the London derby at Fulham.
