Chelsea survived a scare as they were taken to extra time after the game finished 2-2, but they were able to advance 4-2 in the additional period.

Goals from Garnacho and Pedro prevented the game from going to a penalty shootout, and the Blues have now booked their place in the quarter finals.

Liam Rosenior praises Alejandro Garnacho form

As expected Rosenior heavily rotated the team, and made nine changes to the side which beat Aston Villa in midweek.

Jorrel Hato and Garnacho were the only players to keep their place, and both players put in a positive performance.

Garnacho followed on with his impressive performance at Villa Park, with another positive showing as he completed the full 120 minutes.

Having played the full game it would seem unlikely the Argentine will start against PSG, but Rosenior stated he’s in a “great place” after the game.

“I feel he’s in a good place. Ale is in a great place,” he told his post match press conference.

“His goals, his energy levels for 120 minutes were magnificent, considering he played a full 90 on Wednesday.

“He’s in a really good place, and it’s really, really good to see his form at this really important stage of the season.”

Tough decision to be made against PSG

With it unclear if Jamie Gittens and Estevao will be fit to be part of the squad against PSG, Rosenior has some big decisions to make in the wide areas.

Palmer will certainly come back into the side, with Enzo Fernandez likely playing in a more advanced role, whilst there’s a decision on who starts on the left.

Pedro Neto came off against Wrexham, and is Chelsea’s most senior winger, but Garnacho is certainly in the much better form and arguably deserves to start.
