Real Madrid tightened their grip on second spot in the Liga F table with a 3-0 away win against third-placed Real Sociedad. Despite their impressive winning run, Barcelona keep their lengthy lead at the top of the tree.
The reigning champions scored two second half goals in their meeting with Deportivo La Coruña on match-day 22. Here’s how the action unfolded in the latest lot of results in Spain’s top flight.
Real Madrid recorded a fourth consecutive league victory without conceding in their away meeting with Real Sociedad. The scoreline remained goalless until the complexion of the contest changed midway through the second half when Paula Fernández was sent off for handling the ball on the line. Sandie Toletti kept her composure from the resulting penalty to net her second league goal of the season.
Sara Holmgaard then headed in from a Caroline Weir corner, before Eva Nevarro dispatched Real Madrid’s second spot-kick following another handball infringement. The victory has moved Las Blancas six points clear of Real Sociedad, who are still in a strong position to secure European qualification.
Amaiur Sarriegi netted a first half hat-trick in Atleti’s dominant display against DUX Logroño. The former Real Sociedad striker was teed up by Fiamma and Synne Jensen for her first two goals. Sarriegi then tapped in from María Miralles’s parry to complete her hat-trick in the 40th minute.
Fiamma and Sheila Guijarro added their names to the scoresheet in the second period to round off a commanding performance. Despite falling to a heavy loss, Logroño remain a point clear of the bottom two in their battle to preserve their top-flight status.

Barcelona were made to work for all three points in Sunday’s trip to Riazor. Marta Torrejón found the long-awaited breakthrough in the 25th minute, with her inswinging cross evading everyone before bouncing in off the post.
Alexia Putellas went on to double Barcelona’s advantage from close range, condemning a valiant Deportivo La Coruña side to a 2-0 loss. As a result of the victory, the leaders remain 10 points clear at the top with eight games left to play.
In a weekend of big-winning margins, fourth-placed Costa Adeje Tenerife were one of three teams to net four goals. Iratxe Perez broke the deadlock with an emphatic strike in the 16th minute. The 21-year-old received the ball with her back to goal on the left side of the box and then cleverly turned away from her marker before she rifled a fierce shot into the top corner.
The contest remained finely poised until Tenerife netted three late goals from the 85th minute. Clau Blanco provided two assists for Carlota Suárez and Paulina Gramaglia to score, before Patri Gavira rounded off the rout with her first league goal of the season.
Granada also claimed a 4-0 victory on match-day 22. Lauri and Sonya Keefe grabbed a goal apiece in a successful first half against Badalona. Laura Pérez then took over the scoring duties to net a second half brace, wrapping up Granada’s sixth win in eight league games.
Meanwhile, Athletic Club came from behind to hammer Madrid CFF 4-1 in Sunday’s home contest. The two sides went into the break on level terms after Sara Ortega cancelled out Angela Sosa’s goal direct from a corner. Jone Amezaga then pounced on a goalkeeping error to put Athletic in front inside the opening two minutes of the second period.
As the game neared the hour mark, Madrid CFF were dealt a major blow when Emilie Nautnes was sent off for a dangerous studs-up challenge. The hosts ultimately made full use of the numerical advantage to add two more goals to their tally through Leire Baños and Ane Azkona. The win enabled Athletic to leapfrog Madrid CFF into eighth place in the Liga F standings.
Relegation-threatened Alhama were narrowly beaten in their home game against an in-form Sevilla side. Fatou Kanteh pounced on a mix-up in the Alhama backline to score her third goal in four matches. The forward’s first half effort proved enough to fire Sevilla to a fourth consecutive victory, leaving them in fifth place and eight points adrift of Real Sociedad in third spot.
Espanyol clinched maximum points in the final game of match-day 22. Ona Baradad coolly rounded the Eibar goalkeeper to net the opener in Monday’s Liga F contest. The forward’s fourth league goal of the season sent the hosts into the break with a narrow lead. Lucía Vallejo doubled her side’s advantage just past the hour mark, steering the ball home from the edge of the box following a neat team move. The result ended Espanyol’s five-game winless run and condemned Eibar to a seventh consecutive league defeat.
Alhama are still searching for their first Liga F goal of 2026, having failed to score in each of their last eight league games.
For us, Espanyol’s second goal was the standout effort of match-day 22. After putting together a combination of intricate one-touch passes, Espanyol worked the ball to the overlapping Daniela Caracas, who played the ball back for Vallejo to send a precise strike out of the goalkeeper’s reach.
