Matchday six brought all the twists and turns as León aimed to maintain their winning start to the season with the visit of Antonio Mohamed's Toluca while Pachuca headed to the capital for a battle against Cruz Azul.
Pachuca and León had a game in hand on the rest of the league, with both sides undefeated going into the game, it had all the makings for a good battle. First blood went to the visitors as Jhonder Cadíz continued his blistering start to the season, netting a fourth goal in five games before John Kennedy brought Loz Tuzos back into the bout. Despite getting back into the game, the side was reduced to 10-men when Elias Montiel was handed a straight red card to return the advantage to León. The visitors made the most of their advantage in the second half as Stiven Mendoza scored the winning goal on the hour mark to maintain their 100% winning start to the Clausura.
Diber Cambindo was at the double to hand Necaxa a first win in three games with the Colombian now up to six goals in as many matches. Pressure continues to build even bigger for incoming manager Fernando Ortiz who remains without a single point since joining Santos in the winter.
Querétaro picked up a first win in four as Lucas Rodríguez scored the only goal of the game to send Los Gallos outside of the Liguilla positions on goal difference. The result leaves San Luis with a record of five losses and one win to start the season, seeming hungover from the semifinal berth in the Apertura.
Puebla's late consolation goal was not enough to peg back Club América who took the lead through Alex Zendejas before Henry Martín double the lead for the reigning champions. Las Águilas climbed to the top of the league but they had to hold on at the Estadio Cuautéhmoc as Ricardo Martin grabbed one back against his former side.

León and Toluca were involved in the game of the week as the hosts continued their winning start to the season with maximum points against Pachuca during the week. Toluca was one of the strongest sides in Apertura and had to find its rhythm with a change of managers during the winter. Building on their form, León raced into a two-goal lead as Cadiz scored his fifth of the season and Rodrigo Echeverria scored his first goal since joining from Huarcan in Argentina. Toluca fought back in the second half as Isaias Violante and Roberto Morales came off the bench to level the game but León was back in front four minutes after conceding as Echeverria scored once more but the final twist came five minutes from time as Morales scored his second of the game to earn a point for the travelling Toluca.
Tigres suffered a shock loss to Nicaraguan outfit Real Esteli during the week and were looking to bounce back against Atlas. Things got off in the best possible way when Juan Brunetta opened the scoring but José Lozano brought the visitors back on level terms before the break and even had time to miss a penalty. Atlas remained winless under new manager Gonzalo Pineda and things were made even worse on the hour mark when Jonathan Herrera restored the lead for Tigres to secure the three points.
Juárez brought the feel-good factor at the start of the Clausura with wins against Pachuca and Cruz Azul and they were able to extend that run with a narrow with against Martín Demichelis' side. All of the world's media has been on Los Rayados this week with the signing of Sergio Ramos but goals from Jesús Murillo and Óscar Estupiñán put Los Bravos two-nil up before Sergio Canales netted a late goal to lessen the blow.
The final game of the night was in the capital as Pachuca aimed to bounce back after a midweek defeat to León. Cruz Azul added to the woes when Ignacio Rivero opened the scoring but missed the chance to double the lead as Rodolfo Rotondi failed to convert from the penalty spot. Salomón Rondón brought Los Tuzos back into the game but a second yellow to Eduardo Bauermann put on the pressure for the final five minutes. Defending desperately for a point on the road, the visitors caved in the 90' minute when Gabriel Fernández handed La Máquina the win with a sublime finish.
Pumas left it until the tenth minute of added time, late into the second half to score the only goal of the game against Mazatlán. Piero Quispe picked up the ball on the edge of the box before slotting his effort towards the far corner to hand the home side a third league win of the Clausura as the visitors fall to eleventh.
Chivas got their first win since the opening weekend against a struggling Tijuana. Alan Pulido and Roberto Alvarado gave Los Rojiblancos a healthy heading towards the interval but their lead was cut in half when José Zuniga got Los Xolos back into the game. The visitors were unable to find an equaliser with their chances made even harder with ten minutes left of the game when Joaquín Fernández received a straight red card. The result leaves Tijuana on four points from their opening six games.
