Liga Portugal briefly published the wrong result after Gil Vicente v Benfica, then corrected the error.
The fixture closed the 24th round in Barcelos and, moments after full time, the league website showed a 4-1 Benfica win with mismatched statistics, including an Antonio Silva brace. Liga Portugal said in a statement that a technological problem, since resolved, had automatically inserted erroneous data.
The league confirmed the accurate score as 2-1 to Benfica at Estádio Cidade de Barcelos and issued a public apology. The goals came from Antonio Silva and Andreas Schjelderup.
The erroneous 4-1 listing surprised supporters and spread rapidly on social media.
Schjelderup may feature again on Sunday against Porto in the 25th round. The match is scheduled for 18:00 at Estádio da Luz, against the side led by Francesco Farioli.
