After several high-scoring encounters this weekend, Ligue 1 has broken a record that has stood since the 1976/77 season, with every team in the league scoring at least one goal.

An average of 4.44 goals a game is the highest since the 19th round of the 1979/80 season, where the average was 4.50. With 40 goals scored in the matchday, only the final round of the 2007/2008 season saw more goals in a single gameweek in the 21st century (43).

Gameweek 31 has been rich in rollercoaster, high-scoring matches, notably Stade Brestois’ incredible last-gasp 5-4 win at Stade Rennais, as well as Olympique Lyonnais seeing off AS Monaco in a 3-2 win at Groupama Stadium. Champions PSG fielded a much-changed starting XI and were also involved in an entertaining, high-scoring encounter, drawing 3-3 with Le Havre at Parc des Princes ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final with Borussia Dortmund this midweek.
