Khalis Merah was taken off on a stretcher during Lyon’s Ligue 1 match on Sunday night.

There were not thought to be particular concerns about the young Lyon player’s condition afterwards. According to @Statsdufoot, OL have won 24 of their 31 matches with him on the pitch.

The incident followed the first meeting in September, when Rouault’s studs-first challenge on Merah did not bring a red card, a mistake later acknowledged by the refereeing department.

This time the foul was not of the same nature as that September challenge, though Merah endured robust treatment from opponents.

He had produced an impressive display on Sunday evening.
