Ligue 1 Predictions, Round 34
GFFN editor-in-chief Luke Entwistle, and sub-editors Raphaël Jucobin and Bastien Cheval face off in our Ligue 1 predictions competition. This season, GFFN will also be hosting guests. Earlier this season, The Athletic’s Alex Barker participated and became the first name on our guest leaderboard, and he has since been joined by Julien Laurens. It’s three points for a correct score, two points for a correct score difference, and one point for a correct result. Who will come out on top at the end of the season?

Bastien: 232
Guest leaderboard:

Julien Laurens: 7
Marseille have already failed in their objective to qualify for the Champions League, but they do at least have the Europa League in their sights. Depending on the result of the Coupe de France final, sixth spot could already be enough for UEL football, but they can make sure of it with a win over Rennes. Les Rennais are the form side here, having won five of their last six, and Esteban Lepaul remains in excellent form; he is almost certain to win the Golden Boot and has the right to feel hard done by after being overlooked by Didier Deschamps for France’s World Cup squad.
Things don’t look quite so bright for OM. There could be an air of mutiny at the Vélodrome as Habib Beye looks set to take charge of what will almost certainly be his final game as Marseille manager. He will want to end on a high, if that is to be the case, but to do so, he’ll have to summon a greater performance than those that have been produced over the past few weeks.
