Ligue 2: Nantes appoint Grégory Poirier to replace Michel Der Zakarian | OneFootball

According to Le Progres, Nantes have appointed Grégory Poirier to replace Michel Der Zakarian. Der Zakarian was dismissed on Monday, barely two months after his appointment, following three defeats that have left the club bottom of Ligue 2.

Poirier, 44, led Red Star over the past two seasons, finishing fourth last spring and coming close to promotion.

Between 2021 and 2024 he was in charge of Martigues, taking them from the fourth tier to the second division. He left Red Star this summer after no contract extension was agreed, and has signed a two-year deal with Nantes.

Nantes have opened the campaign with three losses in three, the latest a 5-2 home defeat by Rodez on Saturday.

The 63-year-old returned for his third spell and said on Saturday night that if he were dismissed he would retire, while also urging his players to raise their efforts. Nantes visit Guingamp on Saturday.
