Lille confirm Bruno Genesio’s exit at end of contract

Lille have confirmed Bruno Genesio will leave at the end of his contract, the club said in a statement.

Appointed in 2024, the French coach will not lead the Dogues next season.

In his second campaign, the former Rennes manager steered Lille to third in Ligue 1, securing direct Champions League qualification.

This season in the Europa League, Lille went out in the round of 16 to Aston Villa, losing 0-3 on aggregate. Villa went on to win the competition.

Only a week ago he had suggested all options were open regarding an extension.

President Olivier Létang thanked Genesio for his work, relationships across the club and professionalism over two demanding seasons, saying both parties close this chapter on a positive note.
