The LOSC president stood alongside Chancel Mbemba this Friday during the press conference, where he made a striking revelation.

This Friday, Chancel Mbemba was officially unveiled as a new LOSC signing. The Congolese defender could have avoided his last goalless season at OM. In fact, Olivier Létang, Lille's president, revealed that he faced a firm refusal from Marseille's management a year ago when he already wanted to bring the defender to the North.

"I would have liked Chancel to join us a year ago. I called the OM president several times, following the proper protocol, to see if it was possible for Chancel to come to us, and both times I was given a clear and firm position that he would not be leaving. So I didn't want to create any confusion," he explained to the media.
