Lucas Chevalier is one of several first-team players who will miss Lille OSC’s final game of the Ligue 1 campaign, against OGC Nice.
Chevalier came off with looked like a very concerning knee injury against FC Nantes, with an ACL injury hypothesised. However, whilst the Lille goalkeeper has indeed suffered a considerable injury to his knee, which has required surgery, Paulo Fonseca told the press this week that he expects the Frenchman to be back in time to compete in the Olympic Games in the summer. It is expected that Chevalier will compete in the competition, which begins in July. Vito Mannone will take his place between the sticks against Nice.
Tiago Santos is out of the game against Le Gym with concussion, Yusuf Yazici is out with an adductor injury – and with his contract expiring at the end of the season, his time in a Lille shirt has come to an end, whilst Samuel Umitit remains sidelined with a knee injury.
