Genesio must contend with multiple absences. Angel Gomes is suspended after being sent off for two yellow cards in the opener. André Gomes, who arrived as a free agent after the deadline for squad submission, is ineligible. There is then a long injury list to contend with.

Ismaily, Samuel Umtiti, Nabil Bentaleb, Hákon Arnar Haraldsson, Ngal’ayel Mukau, and Ethan Mbappé are all absent for Lille. The latter has suffered a quadriceps injury that will see him ruled out for several weeks. He therefore misses out on the chance of a reunion with brother Kylian Mbappé. Ayyoub Bouaddi will start in the midfield for Lille as he celebrates his 17th birthday.
