The Imps remain in the League One automatic promotion spots following their 2-1 victory over Burton Albion last Thursday.

Michael Skubala's men face a vital fixture on Tuesday night, as they host fellow top-two challengers Bradford City, who suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of league leaders Cardiff City and West Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town.

Lincoln have already strengthened their ranks in the winter transfer window with the permanent additions of defenders Josh Honohan and Deji Elewere, while striker Alfie Lloyd has joined on loan from Championship club Queens Park Rangers.

The Imps have remained in good form in recent weeks, but their League One promotion credentials have been damaged by the fact that former Derby County striker James Collins suffered a season-ending knee injury last month.

Therefore, it is vital that Skubala adequately strengthens his forward line before the transfer window closes.

As reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via X, Ryan One is set to join Lincoln on loan from Sheffield United, having suffered a lack of game time at Bramall Lane this season.

Rotherham United had also plotted a move for One, but the Blades man is now set to join the Imps in their third-tier promotion race, rather than the Millers in their battle against relegation to League Two.

Lincoln have enjoyed a 10-game unbeaten run in League One, which has heavily boosted their chances of beating the likes of Bradford and Bolton Wanderers to a place in next season's Championship.

Meanwhile, One's credentials, including the fact that he made a Premier League appearance for Sheffield United in the 2023/24 season, suggest that he can help the Sincil Bank club in their promotion push.

The 19-year-old scored one goal for the Blades in the Championship last term, having made just two starts in the second tier, and could thrive in League One if he is given adequate game time.

Furthermore, joining a Lincoln outfit who are currently brimming with both confidence and quality will help the teenager adjust to his new surroundings quickly and potentially find good form.

Beyond their upcoming encounter with promotion rivals Bradford, the Imps have a key opportunity to earn another victory when they head to Wigan Athletic next Saturday.

The Latics still have serious relegation worries to contend with, despite drawing 3-3 with Doncaster Rovers on the weekend, having found themselves 3-0 down.

One could make his Lincoln debut in time for their trip to Wigan, and may fancy his chances of scoring against a side who have not maintained a clean sheet in the league since December.
