Linked with Benfica, João Félix wants out of Al Nassr, eyes next club | OneFootball

he is preparing a return to European football and already appears to have a preferred destination: Barcelona. The Portugal international, who is going through a period of consolidation at Al Nassr, wants to compete again at the highest level and sees the Catalan club as a particularly appealing option for next season.

The 26-year-old forward had already publicly admitted his desire to return to Europe. In an interview with As, the attacker, who has also been linked with Benfica, explained that the move back could happen at the end of this season or only the following one.

According to Sport, Jorge Mendes has already informed Barcelona of the player’s wish to wear the blaugrana shirt again. João Félix represented the Catalan club in 2023/24, on loan from Atlético Madrid, making 44 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists.

Although Hansi Flick’s attacking department is currently well stocked and the Portuguese forward is not an immediate priority, the possibility of signing him without a transfer fee could make the deal more attractive. To help facilitate a potential move, the player is reportedly willing to accept a very significant pay cut.

The aim is to make a return to Barcelona financially viable while also offering the German coach an attacking option with different characteristics from the other choices currently available in the squad. Any potential deal will naturally depend on the Catalan club’s willingness to move for the player.
