Lionel Messi trained separately on Tuesday as he manages muscle fatigue in his left thigh. He is expected to be fit for the competition starting on 11 June.

The Inter Miami captain worked away from the main group during Argentina's first training session in the United States. The Argentine Football Association said in a statement that players with minor issues are continuing specific on-field work with physiotherapists and are progressing well.

Messi sustained the problem a week ago and remains the focus of attention in camp.

The eight-time Ballon d'Or completed tailored drills alongside several team-mates who are also managing fitness problems.

He should be available for Argentina's opener against Algeria on 16 June in Kansas City, with kick-off at three am French time.
