Lionel Messi’s final Argentina match, time and TV channel | OneFootball

Lionel Messi, Argentina’s long-time captain, will make his final appearance when they host Benin in a friendly at 01:00 on Wednesday in Buenos Aires.

The match at the Monumental will be shown on L'Équipe live foot. Unlike Cristiano Ronaldo’s abrupt international exit, Messi is preparing a formal farewell.

It is Argentina’s third friendly of this international window. Messi missed the first two games, then rejoins the squad for this gala send-off.

His international career spans more than 26 years, bringing 207 caps and 125 goals, crowned by the 2022 World Cup win against France after a 3-3 draw and 4-2 on penalties.

For the occasion he will wear an Adidas-designed special shirt with gold details on the back and the Argentine sun at its centre. The ground is already sold out, in front of more than 80,000 supporters, as the forward with 76 career free-kick goals bows out in Argentina colours.
