This Wednesday, Joan Laporta commented on Lionel Messi's surprise visit to Camp Nou last Sunday evening.

Speaking to Catalunya Radio, Joan Laporta reflected on Messi's return to Camp Nou. "I was thrilled to see Messi back at Camp Nou, but no, we didn’t know he was coming. We adore him. This is his home and he knows it. I think he deserves the greatest farewell in history," he said.
The Catalan president went on to pour cold water on hopes of a return: "Out of respect for Messi, our players, and our members, now is not the time to speculate on unrealistic scenarios. Despite the circumstances surrounding Leo Messi’s departure, I have no regrets. Barça is above everything. It wasn’t what we all wanted, but it just wasn’t possible at that moment."
