@England returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Australia in the second match of their ‘Homecoming Series’ at Pride Park in Derby.

The Matildas were reduced to 10 players in the 19th minute when defender Alanna Kennedy was shown a straight red card for pulling down Alessia Russo and denying a goalscoring opportunity.

The Lionesses took full advantage, with Aggie Beever-Jones converting the resulting free-kick after her initial attempt was blocked.

Lucy Bronze doubled the lead in the 40th minute. She finished a cut-back from Ella Toone into the bottom corner. Georgia Stanway added a third from the penalty spot in stoppage time after Missy Bo Kearns was fouled, following a VAR review.

The match saw a concerning injury for Euro 2025 star Michelle Agyemang, who was taken off on a stretcher with a knee problem.

England will next face China at Wembley on 29 November as part of their ongoing ‘Homecoming Series’.
