It seemed unlikely that Chris Heck's leaving Aston Villa was solely to spend time with more family. Not too long after his departure from the club was announced, his next job became public knowledge soon thereafter. Even with his next step known, there is a lot to discuss when evaluating how Heck performed in his duties as president of business operations.

The Telegraph's Sam Wallace reported that Heck will go on to become LIV's next executive, serving in the same role as he did for Villa once the Premier League season concludes. Officially, the club website had shared that he was moving on due to wanting to spend more time with his family.

By all means, despite being Saudi-financed to a large extent, the golf organization does have offices in New York and Florida, as well as London. A number of their events are also held in the United States. In principle, the reasoning holds out. It's clear that the driving factor was to land this new position once his deal with Villa expired.

And that's fair enough. Heck has every right to venture off and look for new opportunities, particularly seeing as his contract is set to expire. It's the nature and public image of then going to LIV that has many Villa fans justified in their like of kind parting words, feeling that it's fitting for him to join that organization after the malfeasance that he has done while at the club.

Why many will be happy to see him leave Aston Villa

Some are backing him, pointing out a lot of progress that has occurred since arriving. Critics point out that a lot of those developments would have happened anyway and that the current financial status is more about Villa achieving results on the pitch than anything else.

Heck made some good moves while in the Villa offices, but the overall disconnectiveness and lack of true consideration for the fans who have been supporters of this club for their whole lives will always be too much to overlook.
