Liverpool add academy stars Cain, Clarkson to first-team training squad

Liverpool have added youngsters Jake Cain and Leighton Clarkson to their first team squad.

The two were spotted in first team training ahead of the Champions League round of 16 first leg tie with RB Leipzig on Tuesday.

The Reds are rocked by injuries, especially in defence, and the two have been drafted in as extra bodies.

While both have made their professional debuts for the club in the past year, it would be a shock if either played against Leipzig.

They may be on the bench, per the Daily Star, as manager Jurgen Klopp can name up to 11 substitutes.
