Liverpool add FOUR new players to Premier League squad including special centre-back

Liverpool have added four new players to their Premier League squad as they look to finish the season on a high.

It's not been the campaign many expected at Anfield. Perhaps behind closed doors it was always going to be a transitional season.

However, fans anticipated much more after the lavish spending in the summer, which saw Liverpool bring in a plethora of exciting players.

As the season has unfolded, it has become apparent that not all is as it seems. The squad is extremely imbalanced, and that means Liverpool are also lacking in depth in certain departments.

That's why fans expected a bit more investment in January. Liverpool did strike some deals for centre-backs, with Noah Adekoya and Mor Talla Ndiaye joining the club last month, meanwhile Ifeanyi Ndukwe and Jeremy Jacquet will join in the summer.

These are signings for the future rather than the present.

It means Arne Slot has a thin squad to contend with and he will be forced to make some tweaks in his system and play players out of positions in order to get by from now until the end of the season.

As usual, Liverpool have also updated their Premier League squad following the conclusion of the January window.

Jack Lusby reports that they have added Owen Beck and Harvey Davies to their homegrown players in the squad.

The former was recalled from his loan at Derby County and is still recovering from an injury. But it seems like he could potentially return before the end of the season and that's good news for Liverpool.

Beck is a talented player, who is already a Wales senior international and who has caught the eye out on loan in the past.

Davies is a goalkeeper who was struggling for game time at Crawley and who has been on loan at several EFL clubs now.

Liverpool are well-stoked in the goalkeeping department, so involvement for Davies looks unlikely.

But it's not just the duo that have been added to Liverpool's squad.

Liverpool also submit an U21 player list to the Premier League and as per Lusby again this includes the aforementioned Adekoya and Ndiaye.

The latter is probably the more exciting one considering the club believe he has first-team potential.

Signed after his brilliant performances for Senegal at the U17 World Cup, Ndiaye is a special centre-back who reads the game really well and who is also very calm and composed on the ball.

He's believed to be recovering from a little niggle spotted during his medical but he should be fit and ready to play football soon.

It's expected he will be involved with the U21s. However, with Joe Gomez injury prone, Wellity Lucky and Amara Nallo both injured, there could be an opportunity for Ndiaye to make his mark in the senior team as well.

Out of the four players added to the squad, he's the most likely to be involved. So, it's a name to keep an eye on.
