Liverpool have completed an agreement with reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain for the transfer of Bradley Barcola.
According to The Athletic, the Reds will pay an initial £106 million, with £17m to be paid as add-ons.
This takes the total to just under the club’s record outlay for Alexander Isak from last summer, making Barcola the second-most expensive player in their history.
The winger will undergo a medical in the next 24 hours and sign a five-year deal with the Reds.
Barcola will strengthen manager Andoni Iraola’s attacking options. The 23-year-old is capable of playing on either flank.
The Frenchman is blessed with blistering pace and impressive ball manipulation that makes him an ideal winger for Iraola’s transitional style
He has a decent goalscoring record for club and country, and his ability in front of goal was on show this summer at the FIFA World Cup, where he scored three goals.
Barcola bagged 39 goals and 34 assists in 152 appearances across three seasons for PSG following a move from his boyhood club Olympique Lyon.
The Reds will hope to have Barcola available against newly-promoted Ipswich Town on September 4.
They will now turn their attention to their other targets to strengthen their attack, having missed out on the signing of Ibrahim Mbaye.
Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr is a possible addition to their squad in the final days of the transfer window.
