Barcelona are prioritising the signing of a new pivot midfielder and a left-winger heading into the summer transfer window, with targets identified for both positions.

As far as the left flank is concerned, the Blaugrana have set their sights on Nico Williams of Athletic Club and Luis Diaz of Liverpool as their main targets for the summer.

It has been suggested that Barcelona sporting director is leaning towards a move for Luis Diaz, even though a move for him could be expensive and might require the club to sell Raphinha.

Liverpool preparing for Luis Diaz exit?

Earlier this week, it was reported that new Liverpool manager Arne Slot would be prepared to sanction Luis Diaz’s departure if the player asked to leave.

Building on that, reports in England, via Mundo Deportivo, suggest that the Reds are already exploring the market for possible reinforcements on the left flank.

Indeed, as per the report, Liverpool are exploring a move for Newcastle United and England winger Anthony Gordon, who could be seen as a direct replacement for Diaz if he opts to leave.

The Merseyside giants believe that Newcastle United are forced to sell a key asset to balance their books and even though early negotiations did not go according to plans, there is optimism that things could go in the right direction.

Meanwhile, there have been recent rumours linking Liverpool with Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman as well, who would also compete for the left-wing if signed.

Some reports have even suggested that the Reds are looking at Napoli speedster Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as an option to strengthen their attack.

This could indicate that Liverpool might be open to offloading Diaz, which would come as a boost for Barcelona. However, the Colombian international still has three years left on his contract and will not come cheap.
