In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Liverpool are in talks to sign Red Bull Leipzig winger Yan Diomande. It has been claimed that the Reds would have to compete with Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City in the race to land the Ivory Coast wide player this summer.

Diomande’s Excellent Numbers In German Football

The 19-year-old was a consistent performer for the German club after he put in a string of impressive displays on the left side of their attack. Diomande participated in 36 matches for RB Leipzig last season, scoring 13 times and securing ten assists in the process on all fronts.

The Ivory Coast talent is currently one of the most gifted young wide players in European football. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Reds are in the running to land him this summer.

His current deal at the Red Bull Arena will run out in the summer of 2030, so Liverpool would have to make a convincing offer if they want to win the race for his services this off-season.

What Will Diomande Bring To Liverpool?

Diomande has got the pace to cause a lot of problems for his marker out in the wide areas. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Ivory Coast sensation is primarily a left-winger but can also operate as a right-sided wide player if asked to do so. However, it remains to be seen whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if the Reds manage to snap him up this summer.

We can expect Diomande to bring more pace and goals to Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola’s frontline. He would serve as an ideal long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah at the Merseyside club.

At 19, the future looks quite bright for Diomande. He is more than capable of challenging for regular first-team football at Anfield next season. The Ivory Coast whizkid will also help Liverpool compete for some major honours over the next decade. Hence, the Reds would be wise to go all out to bring him on board in this transfer period.
