In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Liverpool are keen on signing Borussia Dortmund talent Karim Adeyemi. It has been mentioned that the Reds are eager to get a deal done for the German winger next year.

Adeyemi’s Impressive Form In German Football

Adeyemi has enjoyed a good run of form at the German club and has done well to put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The German talent has banged in six goals and earned five assists in 27 matches for Borussia Dortmund this season across multiple competitions.

The 23-year-old has given a good account of himself inside the opponent’s penalty area as he is averaging 2.45 shots per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He has kept 45% of his attempts on target. However, Adeyemi needs to improve his ball distribution after completing 70.9% of his attempted passes in the German top tier (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Signal Iduna Park will run out in the summer of 2027, which could open the door for the Reds to recruit him on a cut-price deal next year.

Should Liverpool Boss Arne Slot Go For Adeyemi?

Adeyemi is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make some driving runs with it out on the flanks. He has got the vision to engineer a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and can strike the ball with power from long range.

The German sensation can even chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from the wide areas. Adeyemi is primarily a right-winger but can also function as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if told to do so. However, there are some concerns over whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League.

We can expect Adeyemi to bring more quality and depth to Liverpool boss Arne Slot’s frontline. He is good enough to serve as an ideal long-term successor to Mohamed Salah at the Merseyside club.

At 23, Adeyemi has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent option for the Reds to consider this January or at the end of this season. Hence, Slot would be wise to go for a player of his skill set in 2026.
