In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that Liverpool are keeping a keen eye on Feyenoord full-back Givairo Read. It has been mentioned that the Reds are monitoring the development of the Dutch defender ahead of a potential move for him next year.

Read’s Impressive Rise In Dutch Football

Read has made a brilliant start to this campaign as he has put in a run of eye-catching displays on the right side of Feyenoord’s defence. The 20-year-old has picked up five assists in eight appearances for the Dutch outfit this season on all fronts.

The talented defender is currently one of the most gifted young full-backs in the Dutch Eredivisie. Hence, it is no surprise that the Reds are eyeing a move to bring him to Anfield next year.

His current contract at the Dutch club will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Liverpool to land him on the cheap this winter or at the end of this season.

Liverpool Are Keeping A Keen Eye On Read: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Read is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make some driving runs with it out in the wide areas. He has the vision to engineer some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and can get stuck in with some solid tackles when needed.

The Dutch talent can read the danger well to make some important interceptions for his team and usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the front foot. Read is primarily a right-back but can also fill in as a left-back if asked to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Reds manage to get a deal done for him next year.

We can expect Read to add more quality and depth to Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola’s defence in the long run. He is capable of challenging for a regular first-team spot at the Merseyside club.

At 20, the future looks quite promising for Read. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so the Reds should focus on getting him on board in 2027.
