In a recent report, Foot Mercato claimed that Liverpool are keeping a keen eye on Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara. It has been stated that the Reds would have to compete with Newcastle United in the race to land the Senegalese talent in the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a solid campaign at the French club after he put in a run of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. Camara has made 31 appearances for Monaco this season, finding the back of the three times and picking up four assists in the process across all fronts.
The Senegalese sensation is currently among the best young midfielders in Ligue 1. Hence, Liverpool would do well to lure him to Anfield this off-season.
His current contract with Monaco will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for the Reds to land him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Camara is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and is a tidy passer as well.
The Senegalese talent can contribute by scoring and creating a few important goals for his team from midfield. Camara is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder or as an attacking midfielder if asked to do so by his manager. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Reds manage to bring him on board in this summer transfer period.
We can expect Camara to bring more quality and depth to Liverpool boss Arne Slot’s midfield. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the Merseyside club in the coming seasons.
At 22, Camara has the potential to be a future star in English football as long as he continues to improve with each year. Therefore, Liverpool would be wise to go all out to acquire his services at the end of this campaign.
