In a recent post on X, journalist Santi Aouna stated that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi. It has been revealed that the Reds are facing competition in the form of Tottenham Hotspur in the race to land the Morocco international this summer.

Bouaddi’s Impressive Rise In French Football

Bouaddi managed to catch the eye at times with his performances at the centre of Lille’s midfield in the previous campaign. The 18-year-old made 42 appearances for the French club last season, securing one assist across all fronts.

The Moroccan prospect is currently among the most gifted young central midfielders in Ligue 1. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Reds are looking to get a deal done for him this summer.

His current contract at Lille will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Liverpool to snap him up on a cut-price deal in this transfer window.

Liverpool Are Keeping Tabs On Bouaddi: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Bouaddi is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and is an accurate passer as well.

Standing at 1.85m, the Morocco international is a strong presence in the air as well. Bouaddi is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder if needed. However, there are some concerns over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Reds manage to win the race for his services later this year.

Bouaddi would bring more bite and steel to Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola’s midfield. He is already good enough to fight for a regular first-team spot at Anfield in the coming seasons.

At 18, Bouaddi has got the potential to be a future star in English football. Hence, the Reds should focus on getting a deal done for him this off-season as long as they can get him for a reasonable fee. Bouaddi is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so Iraola should consider stepping up his efforts to land him this summer.
