In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey revealed that Liverpool are long-term admirers of Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall. However, it is understood that the Reds are facing competition from Bayern Munich and Manchester United in the race to land the English talent this summer.

Hall’s Impressive Form In English Football

Hall is having an impressive campaign at the Tyneside club as he produced a series of solid displays for them in the Premier League. The 21-year-old has scored one goal and grabbed one assist in 29 league matches for the Magpies this season.

The English talent is currently among the most talented left-backs in the Premier League. Thus, the Reds would do well to get a deal over the line for him at the end of this campaign.

His current contract at St. James’ Park will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for Liverpool to recruit him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Should Liverpool Boss Arne Slot Go For Hall?

Hall is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it on the left flank. He has got the vision to create the odd chance for his teammates and can strike the ball well from long range.

The English sensation is a solid tackler of the ball as well and can earn the ball back for his team on the defensive end of the field. Hall doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed. He is primarily a left-back but can also operate as a central midfielder or as a left-winger if asked to do so.

Hall already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Liverpool. We can expect him to bring more quality and depth to Liverpool head coach Arne Slot’s backline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at the Merseyside club in the coming years.

At 21, Hall has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent option for the Reds to consider in this summer transfer period. He might even help Liverpool compete for some major honours over the next decade. Therefore, it is only logical for Slot to go for a player of his quality later this year.
