In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that Liverpool are stepping up their efforts to land Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott. It has been mentioned that Andoni Iraola is keen on reuniting with the English midfield ace at the Merseyside club, but the Cherries remain hopeful of retaining his services beyond this summer.
The 22-year-old managed to catch the eye with his performances at the heart of Bournemouth’s midfield in the previous campaign. Scott scored four goals and picked up one assist in 39 matches for the Cherries last season across all fronts.
The English sensation was one of Iraola’s most reliable players at Bournemouth. Hence, it is no surprise that the new Liverpool manager is hoping to reunite with him this off-season.
Scott is under contract at the Vitality Stadium until the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for the Reds to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Scott loves a tackle and can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his team at the centre of the park. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is a good passer as well from midfield.
The English talent can even chip in by scoring the odd goal for his team. Scott is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate in the number ten position or play as a right-sided wide player if told to do so. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Liverpool if they can find a way to sign him this summer.
Scott would bring more energy and dynamism to Andoni Iraola’s midfield. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting place at the Merseyside club next season.
At 22, the future looks quite bright for Scott as long as he continues to improve with each year. He will also help the Reds compete for some major trophies in the future. All in all, Scott would be a decent option for the Reds to consider in this summer transfer period, but only if they can get him for a reasonable price.
