Liverpool attacker Cody Gakpo reportedly wants to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club want the Netherlands international and he is eyeing a departure from the Anfield club.
Gakpo does not intend to stay at Liverpool beyond this summer, and Andoni Iraola’s side are open to a sale once they sign an attacker.
However, agreeing a fee with the Merseyside club will be the main challenge for Spurs.
The Lilywhites want a quality attacker as they look to challenge for a place in the top-four in the Premier League next season.
They have been keeping tabs on Gakpo for several weeks, and his willingness to join them is a huge boost.
Liverpool want Tottenham defender Djed Spence, and both clubs could discuss a swap deal if it is favourable.
The Spurs defender is open to joining the Reds and is valued above £35 million.
Meanwhile, the Anfield club want at least £65m for their Dutch attacker, with some reports claiming it could take around £75m for suitors to prise him away.
The 27-year-old fits perfectly into Roberto De Zerbi’s style of play given that he has regularly been deployed as a central striker, false nine and second forward for his country.
Gakpo can be very lethal operating through the middle for Spurs as he knows how to drop between the lines to link play.
A cash plus player deal involving Spence could get the deal done as Tottenham eye a move for the Liverpool star.
However, agreeing a deal with the Reds could prove tricky and the North Londoners will be monitoring other attacking targets.
