Sport Bild reports Liverpool’s buy-back clause for Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah will drop from €80 million to €65 million in the summer of 2027.

It has been widely reported that Liverpool inserted an €80 million buy-back, active at the end of this season, when selling Quansah to Leverkusen for €35 million last summer.

The report considers it unlikely the Reds will trigger the clause.

Even so, the same report says Liverpool would have another chance to re-sign the centre-back next year at a lower price.

It adds that the agreement was structured to allow a potential return after two years, with Quansah seen as a possible successor to 34-year-old Virgil van Dijk.

Quansah has made 38 appearances for Leverkusen since last summer, scoring four goals.
