Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, journalist Pete O’Rourke claimed that Liverpool could move in for Tottenham Hotspur loanee Randal Kolo Muani. O’Rourke said,

“It’s a surprise link. I don’t think many people expected this one.

“Muani has had a difficult season at Tottenham and obviously it doesn’t look like that move will be made permanent from Paris Saint-Germain.

“Liverpool might be forced into the market to bring in cover for Ekitike with his long-term injury. We’re not sure when he will be back…it’s looking more and more likely that it will be 2027.

“They might be looking at cheaper options to see who they can bring in to strengthen their attacking options. I would be surprised if they did pursue a move for Kolo Muani.”

Kolo Muani’s Lackluster Loan Spell At Tottenham

Kolo Muani has experienced an inconsistent campaign at the North London club as he has struggled to perform at a high level for them in the Premier League. Still, the French talent deserves some credit for scoring five goals and earning four assists in 37 matches for Tottenham this season on all fronts.

His current deal at his parent club, Paris Saint-Germain, will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for Spurs to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Should Liverpool Boss Arne Slot Bring Kolo Muani On Board?

Kolo Muani can create a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He can create the odd chance for his teammates to find the back of the net and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

However, the French talent has to find a way to improve his productivity in front of the opponent’s goal. Still, he has got some valuable experience in the Premier League this season and could perform at a higher level in the coming years.

Kolo Muani would undoubtedly improve the quality of Liverpool boss Arne Slot’s attack. He is good enough to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Merseyside club in the coming seasons.

At 27, Kolo Muani is about to enter his prime, which makes him a decent option for the Reds to consider this off-season. More importantly, he would serve as an ideal, short-term replacement for Hugo Ekitike, who is out of action due to a long-term injury.
