Liverpool expect to tie up a new contract shortly. The Reds sound particularly hopeful with negotiations.

Liverpool have had a strange season so far. They played badly in the Community Shield against Crystal Palace, eventually losing on penalties.

But that was followed by an incredible run that saw them win game after game, topping the Premier League and beating Atlético Madrid in the Champions League. A series of late winners helped them achieve that - even if the performances weren't perfect.

Then the luck ran out a bit. Liverpool recorded just one win in seven fixtures, losing four in a row in the Premier League. Suddenly, crisis set in and the Reds looked a world away from the team everyone expected them to be.

They're the reigning champions, after all, and a team that spent over £450m on new players in the summer. The expectations were sky-high heading into the season and they really haven't been met.

The last two games have been a move in the right direction, though. A 2-0 win over Aston Villa was a great return to form and the performance against Real Madrid was arguably the best Liverpool have looked in 2025.

So how are Liverpool feeling about Arne Slot? The Premier League title-winner in his debut campaign who has then struggled to gel together the most expensive squad in club history.

Arne Slot's future

Well, TeamTalk believe there's nothing to worry about. They report that FSG and Liverpool have complete faith in Slot and expect him to sign a new contract before the season is out.

The Dutchman only actually has one more year after this one and the Reds are keen to sort things before they get difficult. It appears there are zero worries about him being the right man for the club.

And really, there shouldn't be. Slot won the title in his debut campaign and won it comfortably. There's no reason to believe that he won't find the magic formula once again - the upheaval has absolutely shaken things up, forcing everyone to be patient.
