Liverpool want to bring another attacker to the club after completing a deal for Victor Munoz, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
Manager Andoni Iraola wants the Reds to add a fast winger to their attack and Koln’s Said El Mala is one of their options if they miss out on RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande.
The Ivory Coast international is the Merseyside club’s top target, but competition from Paris Saint-Germain and his asking price could make them look elsewhere.
El Mala’s ‘burst of speed’ which ‘surprises many defenders’ is a skill Liverpool admire, and he could be open to a Premier League move.
Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yankuba Minteh, Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo and PSG’s Bradley Barcola are also options for the Reds.
El Mala ended last season with 13 goals and five assists in 34 Bundesliga games and was close to going to the World Cup with Germany after an impressive end to the campaign.
While he is primarily a left winger, he can also play as a number nine and could be perfect for the Reds’ attack.
The winger loves to launch sudden counter-attacks and Liverpool could benefit if they gamble on his huge potential.
They are not the only club looking to sign him, with Chelsea one of his suitors. They may need to offer him assurances of regular football to have a realistic chance of securing his services.
