Hugo Ekitike says that he can become even better than he already is for Liverpool

As mentioned, Ekitike has been the Reds' shining light this season as he's managed to score 16 goals.

He's led Liverpool's attack with the maturity of a Premier League veteran and has arguably been the best striker signing that any Premier League team made during the summer.

Despite his good run of form, the attacker has admitted that he believes that he can perform even better than he already is.

"To be honest, I could score more. I’m not that happy! But it’s not only about goals, it’s assists as well – today I think I gave one or two assists," he said.

"As long as I can help the team and be involved, that’s the most important. I want to win so, personally, I’m happy. I’m looking forward to the upcoming games.

"Obviously I can [also] improve, I could score also in the last games, I had good chances. So I have to keep working.

"I want to be the best version of myself to help the team more, because I know I could help more. But it’s always about lessons and getting better.

"I’ll try in the upcoming games to be even better, score more and be involved more."

Liverpool fans will be ecstatic that Hugo Ekitike thinks that he can become even better

Although Ekitike may have cost Liverpool around £69 million to buy, he's been worth every penny.

The striker is quickly becoming one of the best strikers in the world and the fact that he's only 23 years old bodes well for his future.

The Frenchman is already seen as one of Arne Slot's best players and, if his progression continues in this upward fashion, there's going to be no stopping him.

When Isak is fully fit, it feels like Ekitike will be used as more of a winger which could help the Anfield outfit in more ways than one.

Cody Gakpo has been terrible this term and, with Ekitike's creativity and keen eye for goal on the wing, Slot's men would be even stronger, especially with Isak in the middle.

There's a lot to look forward to in Liverpool's future, especially since the vast majority of their squad still have six or seven years left to play at the highest level.
