Liverpool favourites to land Marcos Senesi

Liverpool are the favourites to sign Marcos Senesi when the Bournemouth defender's contract expires at the end of the season.

The Argentina international is set to leave the Cherries on the expiry of his contract after four seasons with the club that have seen him feature 122 times for the club so far.

Due to the defender's performances there is plenty of interest from across the Premier League with Chelsea and Manchester United said to be keen.

However, according to journalist Pete Hall of The i Paper, Liverpool are leading the way to sign the 28-year-old.

The Reds are certainly in need of defensive reinforcements with Virgil van Dijk turning 35 this year, Giovanni Leoni returning from a season-ending injury, and Ibrahima Konaté's future uncertain.
