Ibrahima Konaté is approaching the final stretch of his Liverpool deal with no extension agreed, which has opened the door to fresh questions about his future and drawn attention from PSG.
Foot Mercato reported earlier that several major clubs across Europe, including PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, have been tracking him. Liverpool opted to keep Konaté last summer rather than consider potential bids.
Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato later indicated that Real Madrid have shifted its focus to Dayot Upamecano and has even reached a verbal agreement for a possible move. PSG are still in the mix, and Konaté can continue talks with Liverpool if he chooses.
According to The Athletic, Real Madrid’s long-standing interest has faded in recent months, with inconsistency under Arne Slöt believed to be a factor.

Despite Real Madrid’s interest in the Liverpool standout fading, Everton’s former CEO, Keith Wyness, believes Konaté could attract interest from both Bayern Munich and PSG.
“Well, Konaté is an interesting one,” Wyness told Football Insider. “I mean, he’s had this dip in form which you would possibly attribute to the fact that he’s had his head turned, and he was already focusing on Real Madrid, etc.
“So that could have explained some of the dip in form. But certainly that dip in form has been very apparent. And I’ve spoken to a lot of my Liverpool friends who are saying that he has been really well below par, you know, whether this whole, if they’re able to resolve the contract situation and then, you know, getting back on track.
“He has shown that he can be a quality player at some stage, but I still believe there’s Bayern and PSG out there as well who might be more interested as well. So it isn’t just around Madrid.”
