Liverpool were expected to completely transform their team in the summer transfer window.

Arne Slot led his men to a fifth-place finish last term which, just a year after winning the Premier League title, was a massive fall from grace.

This lack of form was one of the main reasons why Andoni Iraola was brought in and plenty of change was expected.

And, even though many deals were made, it still feels like more could be done to help improve the Anfield outfit even more.

The Reds are still unbeaten across all competitions at the moment but, as the season has gone on, a new transfer priority seems to have emerged ahead of the next transfer window.

Liverpool need to sign better left back's than Milos Kerkez and Kostas Tsimikas

Milos Kerkez and Kostas Tsimikas were supposed to share the role of being Liverpool's left-back's this season.

Andy Robertson's contract expired which meant that Kerkez was bumped up to first choice and, like most of Tsimikas' Liverpool career, he was expected to back the Hungarian up if and when needed.

However, now that they have both featured in a few games, it's become clear that neither of them are worthy of being the Reds' starting left-back.

Each of them have terrible decision making skills and, even when the Greek Scouser was given the chance to try and prove his worth for Liverpool in their recent game against Fulham, he ended up getting hooked at half-time due to how badly he played.

Indeed, Kerkez is a better player than Tsimikas with fans thinking that, after spending £45 million on him last summer that Liverpool's left-back would be locked down for years to come.

But, if these recent performance are anything to go by, that is far from the case and, the interest that they showed in some left-wingers during the summer needs to be reignited as a matter of urgency.

Liverpool must re-ignite their interest in Daniel Svensson

Obviously, there were many full-backs linked with Liverpool over the summer.

Djed Spence, Jorrel Hato, Antonee Robinson and Daniel Svensson are just a few examples.

And, while some new rumours have started to emerge about the future of Alejandro Balde, it feels like Svensson could be the perfect option for Liverpool top explore.

A lot of the links with left-backs were dependent on whether Tsimikas was going to leave or not as, even last season, Slot tried to make Kerkez his starting left-back.

However, with how badly both left-backs have performed for Liverpool this term, the £35 million deal for Borussia Dortmund's Svensson actually looks appealing.

He's got plenty of Champions League experience under his belt alongside a decent chunk of Bundesliga outings as well.

Obviously, the Reds would have to change their transfer strategy again and potentially miss out on signing someone such as Lamine Camara but, with how much of a problem area left-back is for them at the moment, it feels like that needs to take priority.
