In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Liverpool have set their sights on Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams. It has been claimed that the Reds are showing interest in recruiting the Spanish talent this off-season.

Williams’ Impressive Form In La Liga

Williams has enjoyed a good run of form at the Spanish club as he has been responsible for putting in a handful of impressive displays for them on the left wing. The 23-year-old has participated in 30 matches for the Reds this season, scoring four times and securing six assists in the process across all fronts.

The Spanish talent is currently among the most feared wide players in La Liga. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Reds are showing interest in signing him this summer.

His current contract at the San Mames Stadium will run out in the summer of 2035, which could make it difficult for Liverpool to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Should Liverpool Boss Arne Slot Snap Williams Up This Summer?

Williams has got the pace to cause some headaches for his marker out in the wide areas. He has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Spanish sensation can chip in by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team on the offensive end of the pitch. Williams is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also operate as a right-winger if told to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Reds manage to get a deal done for him later this year.

Williams would undoubtedly add more quality and depth to Liverpool boss Arne Slot’s attack. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team place at Anfield in the coming years.

At 23, the future looks quite bright for Williams as long as he continues to improve with each season. He would even serve as an ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah at the Merseyside club. Hence, Slot would be wise to snap him up in the upcoming transfer window.
