The Reds have agreed personal terms with Munoz and have activated his €40 million release clause, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Munoz has also completed his medical. He is set to become the first signing under new manager Andoni Iraola.

Munoz enjoyed a brilliant campaign with Osasuna last term, bagging seven goals and five assists in 36 matches across all competitions.

The 22-year-old completed 2.2 dribbles per game, the sixth highest in the division. He ranked second among Osasuna players for total shots and shots on target per game.

Munoz offers a counter-attacking threat, always likes to cut inside and has a knack for crossing.

The Spaniard can operate anywhere across any frontline and in midfield.

Munoz scored on his senior debut for Spain in a 3-0 international friendly win over Serbia in March. He is in their squad for the ongoing 2026 World Cup.

His arrival is not expected to impact Liverpool’s pursuit of RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande, as they aim to sign two forwards this summer.

However, Munoz’s signing may affect Cody Gakpo’s future. The Dutch forward has recently been linked with Tottenham Hotspur.
