Liverpool ‘hold a keen interest’ in Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, according to the Daily Mail.

Wharton has created five big chances in the Premier League this season, including two as the Eagles beat Liverpool 2-1 at Selhurst Park.

The Merseyside giants need to improve their midfield options, and Wharton would be an upgrade on their current players in the engine room.

Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested in the former Blackburn Rovers star, who has been described as an ‘excellent midfielder‘.

Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid have monitored him closely over the past year, while Manchester United have been linked with a move.

Bayern Munich have compiled detailed reports about the Palace ace, who was signed from Rovers for a bargain £18 million in 2024.

He is now valued at around £75m, but Palace are already moving to secure their prized asset. They are preparing to offer Wharton improved terms and a potential release clause as part of a new deal.

Newly appointed sporting director Matt Hobbs is taking the lead on the project. He is determined to protect Oliver Glasner’s squad after a frustrating summer transfer window.

Wharton has shown no inclination that he wants to leave Selhurst Park, but he will likely be tempted by the prospect of playing for a bigger club.
