The Reds are off to a flying start this season and are currently only one point behind league leaders Manchester City.
In the Champions League, they have managed to win all their matches so far this season, showing that life under new manager Arne Slot is looking encouraging and they can challenge for the biggest honours this season.
The Dutch manager is concerned about the future of a number of his players at Anfield, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk all in the final year of their contract.
Slot also needs to make reinforcements to his squad in key positions and one of them is the left-back position where Robertson has struggled this season, as seen in the match against Arsenal recently.
As per the report, the Premier League giants view Kerkez as a long term replacement of Scottish left-back Robertson, who is now 30-years-old and his best years are behind him.

Bournemouth believe that the talented left-back is now in his final season at the club and his move to a bigger club in England is going to materialise next year.
The Reds are expected to launch a bid for the defender next year and it appears that they are currently leading the race to sign the young defender.
The player is keen on a move away from Bournemouth and Liverpool present an ideal opportunity for him to take his career to the next level.
Liverpool face competition from rivals Manchester United to sign the player, who are looking to find cover for injury prone duo Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
Slot’s team would be the outstanding favourites to sign the 20-year-old defender.
The Liverpool manager’s comments recently have indicated that he does not prefer to start the Scottish left-back any more and Kostas Tsimikas has been given the nod over Robertson recently.
