In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Liverpool have identified Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall as a target. It has been claimed that the Reds are eyeing a move to bring the Swedish talent to Anfield next year.
Bergvall is having a decent campaign at the North London club after he put in a string of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 19-year-old registered one goal and earned four assists in 21 matches for Tottenham this season across all competitions.
The Swedish talent has given a good account of himself in the middle of the field as he has made 16 tackles, five blocks, two interceptions and 11 clearances in the Premier League. He has even distributed the ball relatively well, based on his pass completion rate of 75.2% in the top tier of English football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will run out in the summer of 2031. Thus, it won’t be easy for Liverpool to get a deal done for him on the cheap next year.

Bergvall is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is a good passer as well.
The Swedish sensation can even chip in by scoring and creating some important goals for his team in the final third. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if needed.
We can expect Bergvall to bring more quality and depth to Liverpool head coach Arne Slot’s midfield department. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Merseyside club in the coming years.
At 19, the future looks quite bright for Bergvall as long as he continues to improve with each season. He is no doubt a prospect to watch out for in the future, so the Reds would be wise to go all out to snap him up this winter or at the end of this campaign.
