Mo Salah is leaving Liverpool.
The Egyptian King has reached an agreement with the club to cut up his £400k per week one year early. The move leaves sporting director Richard Hughes and head coach Arne Slot chasing a starting right winger.
One-v-one quality out wide has been prioritised by the Anfield decision-makers ahead of the summer transfer window opening.
We’ve already seen the likes of Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola linked with a move to the Premier League champions. But there now remains the possibility that Liverpool strike for a player long linked with a move to Merseyside.
Karim Adeyemi is set for the Borussia Dortmund exit this summer amid failed contract negotiations. The German international is out of contract in 2027 - with no sign of a resolution over a new deal in sight.
The Yellow and Blacks therefore are willing to discuss a transfer for the 24-year-old this off-season - provided interested clubs reach the £61m mark.
That’s according to a new report in TEAMtalk which claims Manchester United and Chelsea are most interested in signing the former Red Bull Salzburg talent.
Paris Saint-Germain have also been associated with a move for the explosive left-footer as they get to grips with the possibility that one of their own wingers will leave.
“Dortmund, keen to avoid losing him on a free transfer in summer next year, are open to cashing in this summer if bids reach the €60-70million (up to £60.9m / $81.4m) mark,” the report reads.
“Liverpool cannot be discounted either, with the Reds monitoring developments closely as they look to refresh their squad.
“Adeyemi’s preference for a move to England has been noted, making a Premier League switch increasingly likely.”
It’s been reported that Adeyemi would be seeking a pay packet in the £150k to £180k per week range - easily achievable for a club like Liverpool and even more so if Salah as well as Federico Chiesa move.
Speed-merchant Adeyemi moved to Dortmund back in 2022 - reaching the Champions League final in 2024. This season he has scored 10 goals and made six assists in all competitions - including three goals in the Champions League.
