Florian Wirtz and Alisson both returned against West Ham as Hugo Ekitike shrugged off a knock
The reeling Reds had inexplicably lost nine of their last 12 matches across all competitions including six in seven in the Premier League, humiliated in back-to-back Anfield outings by Nottingham Forest and PSV Eindhoven to leave manager Arne Slot under huge pressure just six months after winning the title at the culmination of a dream debut campaign at the helm for Jurgen Klopp’s successor.
However, Liverpool managed to stop the rot on Sunday, with Alexander Isak scoring his first league goal for the club at the sixth attempt and Cody Gakpo also on target in a 2-0 victory over a spirited but toothless West Ham team who had Lucas Paqueta sent off late on during an emotional afternoon that saw the club pay tribute to late icon Billy Bonds.
Slot made four changes for the trip to the London Stadium, the most notable of which was to drop Mohamed Salah to the bench in favour of the returning Florian Wirtz.
Hugo Ekitike also made way for Isak but came on after shaking off a back complaint, while Alisson replaced Giorgi Mamardashvili in goal after recovering from illness and Joe Gomez - who needed an injection in his knee last week - made his first league start of the season on the right side of defence in place of Curtis Jones, with Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong both still sidelined.
It will have given Slot plenty of food for thought as the fixtures continue to arrive quickly during a hectic schedule, starting with the midweek visit of Sunderland to Merseyside.
Here is all the latest Liverpool injury news and return dates ahead of that match, with Slot having allayed concerns over Milos Kerkez and confirmed that the Hungarian left-back was only suffering from cramp after being replaced late on by Andy Robertson against West Ham.
Fan favourite Bradley has not played for Liverpool since the 3-0 defeat at Manchester City on November 9, sustaining a muscle injury during the first half of Northern Ireland’s World Cup qualifying victory over Luxembourg in Belfast eight days later.
He was substituted at the interval and Slot later confirmed that the academy graduate defender would be sidelined for at least three weeks.
“I don't expect Conor to be part of the upcoming 22 days, maybe he will be back before that if a miracle happens, which I don’t expect,” Slot said.
Such a timeline is likely to see Bradley miss the upcoming games against Sunderland, Leeds and Inter Milan.

Bradley’s injury setback came with right-back rival Frimpong already nursing another hamstring issue.
The problem forced him off early in the 5-1 rout of Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on October 22, with Slot not expecting his summer signing back for a number of weeks.
“Jeremie is out just as long,” he said of Frimpong after delivering an update on Bradley on November 21. “He's not probably going to be available in the upcoming two or three weeks as well. It's going to be interesting who all of you want to see as a right full-back.”

Frimpong’s fellow summer arrival at Liverpool, Giovanni Leoni, was desperately unlucky as he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee on a first appearance at Anfield during the Carabao Cup third-round win over Southampton in September.
He underwent surgery and Slot expects the 18-year-old Italian defender to be on the sidelines for approximately a year.
“He is not in a good place, of course, because he tore his ACL and it means he will be out for a year,” Slot said. “Being so young and coming to a new country and playing so well in your first game... it's very hard to take the positive side.
“There's never a positive side - but you always try to look at a positive side and that is that he is still so young, so he has so many years still to go after he recovers from a terrible injury like that.”
Potential return date: Late 2026
